UNB Art Centre receives a 2020 Signature Grant from the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation.

The UNB Art Centre is located in Memorial Hall on the University of New Brunswick campus in Fredericton.

The UNB Art Centre wishes to acknowledge the support and recognition received by the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation for a 2020 Signature Grant given to organizations showing leadership in technological responses to closed galleries and cancelled programming. “We intend this to be both a support for the work you are doing and a recognition of excellence in serving your community,” said Executive Director Kathryn McCarroll .

The Signature Grant Program is an opportunity for the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation to invest in unique opportunities despite the challenges associated with the 2020 pandemic in New Brunswick. In a letter to the Director, Kathryn McCarroll said the UNB Art Centre received this award “to support the admirable work being done to extend outreach through electronic or digital means. In these unprecedented times, your initiatives in serving your community through virtual exhibition, educational programming and artist videos are impressive. SHMF salutes your embrace of technology and innovative approaches to the challenges of social isolation and gallery closures.”

The UNB Art Centre welcomes this support to continue the development of more online programs and exhibits.

The UNB Art Centre galleries at Memorial Hall on the UNB campus are currently closed until further notice as a result of the COVID-19 emergency.  Please follow their exhibits and programs online.
