Lester Slade and Gina Burgess share NuBrew Sessions

Lester Slade and Gina Burgess share a series of performances filmed at NuBrew in Iqaluit Nunavut.

For the past year or so, Moncton alt-country musician Lester Slade has been living and working in Iqaluit. As is so often the case for a displaced Maritimer, Slade met up with another East Coaster, Halifax fiddler Gina Burgess (The Jerry Cans, Gypsophilia), who also makes her home in Nunavut at the present time.

Nothing At All was the first video posted from a new series which features Slade and Burgess performing inside Nunavut Brewing Company’s brew room. A second video in the series, a cover of the Fred Eaglesmith song Freight Train, was posted today.

The sessions were directed by Slade and Justin Tambogon with cinematography and audio engineering by Justin Tambogon and Dona Almojuela. The series was edited for video by Justin Tambogon.

Keep an eye on Slade’s YouTube page for the third and final video arriving December 10. And be sure to check out Snow, Gina Burgess’ brilliant full length album released earlier this year.
