Count Up is the first single off KeeT xx’s forthcoming debut album, This Time.
Elsipogtog rapper KeeT xx has announced his forthcoming album, This Time, produced by Ethan Peters Beats.
In advance of the album’s full release, KeeT xx has shared the first single, Count Up, drawing hefty doses of inspiration from many of the artists currently making waves in the Southern U.S.
“[Count Up] is inspired by Moneybagg Yo’s album Time Served,” said Keet xx. “My whole album is all inspired by the southern hip hop scene. I always loved the hip hop music that the rappers from the south have put out.”
KeeT xx was recently featured on the Ethan Peters album, Anticipated, along with an impressive range of New Brunswick rappers including Wolf Castle, Drives the Common Man, Talon the Rez Kid Wonder and Navi WDGT.
“My upcoming album has a bunch of different sounds on it,” he said. “I really just wanted to have fun and make memories with the people I worked with on this album. Especially since it’s my debut album, I wanted it to resonate not only with myself but the whole community and for people listening to me in other parts of Canada. I don’t expect much, I just want people to have fun and be themselves.”
This Time is set to arrive on streaming services June 18.
