Torero & The Hypochondriacs join forces for a five date jaunt around the East Coast.
Toronto roots rockers Torero are heading to the East Coast this month on a five-date tour through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This tour marks the band’s second trip east since releasing their self-titled debut in 2014.
“We did an acoustic tour out east in the summer of 2014, but we’re really excited to be getting the whole band on the road,” said vocalist/guitarist Eleanor Bull. “Last time we were there I had my first donair, so I’m really looking forward to revisiting that.”
Torero will be joined by longtime Fredericton friends, The Hypochondriacs, who are putting the finishing touches on their debut album set to drop sometime in April.
“Getting together with The Hypochondriacs has been a long time coming,” said Bull. “We first heard of them through their drummer Aaron, who was living in Toronto. When they stopped by to do a Horseshoe date a couple years ago I was blown away! They have an incredible energy onstage, and they’re hilarious. We tossed around the idea of doing a tour together… and here we go!”
Last week Torero shared a new video for Canyon off their self-titled debut. Shot and directed by Ryan Thompson, the video takes inspiration from 70’s pulp and epic Western revenge films.
The band describes the video’s narrative as, “When her partner and her mystic guitar case are stolen in the night, the Woman with No Name heads out through the valley to track down the vile perpetrators and bring them swiftly to justice. But vengeance doesn’t come without its own costs. How much will she risk to save her companion and to reclaim what mysteries the case conceals?”
