Gallery 78 welcomes work from painter Réjean Roy and photographer Jason Nugent.

Fredericton’s Gallery 78 celebrates the beauty of the natural world with two new exhibits opening this week. Life’s Seasons features the work of painter Réjean Roy and See spotlights a series of stunning photographs by world traveling photographer Jason Nugent.

Cold Morning On The River by Réjean Roy

In his newest exhibition, Réjean delves into the metaphorical and literal changing of the seasons, taking to his canoe and exploring the landscapes of Northern New Brunswick and his new home in the Gatineau area of Québec. Réjean is keenly aware of his surroundings and in this new body of work, he has channeled his observations and personal vision of the natural world into the bold and colourful brushstrokes on his boards, showing us transformations from cold winter mornings, to the rejuvenation of spring, contemplative days of summer, into the majesty of fall.

In his new exhibition, Jason brings us along to his places of travel from 2016 and the past year: Scotland, Iceland, and Nepal. An avid outdoorsman and extreme adventure traveller, Jason’s highly nuanced photographs take us on a journey to remote and exotic locations throughout the world, and allow us to experience these regions through his eyes.

Sunrise On Canna –
Scotland by Jason Nugent.

From mountaintop peaks at dawn to treks through freezing temperatures, it is truly astonishing to see the lengths he will go to get the perfect picture.

The gallery also welcomes new work printmaker Alan Grabelsky, Sarah Jones and James Wilson

Both Roy and Nugent will be on hand for the exhibit’s opening Friday November 3 from 5 – 7 p.m.
