Charlottetown singer/songwriter Dennis Ellsworth hits the road this summer in support of his latest album, Things Change.

Charlottetown musician Dennis Ellsworth kicks off a busy summer tour schedule this week in support of his new album, Things Change.

Things Change, Ellsworth’s fifth full length recording, was released April 20. The album signifies a shift in sound and direction, carrying Ellsworth’s folk-rooted sound into the wild world of power pop and good old rock and roll thanks in part to the influence of producer Joel Plaskett and the team he assembled for this project which includes multi-instrumentalist Charles Austin (Superfriendz) and drummer Dave Marsh (Joel Plaskett Emergency).

I feel like I’ve entered into this new land of possibility and I’m gonna ride that wave for a bit,” said Ellsworth.  “I also think my songwriting is getting stronger with every album. I feel like I’ve found a way to get a message across with the perfect balance. It’s still poetic but does a much better job of drawing a listener in with clear messages and some great combinations of words.”

Ellsworth’s summer tour includes four New Brunswick performances this month. Full details available on his website.
