Halifax soul powerhouse embark on a Maritime tour in support of their new album, What It Is.
Big, bold, and full of groove, What It Is is the sophomore album by Chronos – an eight piece instrumental soul powerhouse from Halifax, NS. Seamlessly interlocking a tight rhythm section and a reverb-soaked horn section, What It Is showcases a marked musical evolution for the band. Tracks such as “Big Case,””Alias,” and “Percolator” are primed for the dance floor – emblematic of Chronos’ fresh new direction.
The band’s debut album, 2013’s Boots the Cat, received Jazz Album of the Year nominations from both the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) and Music Nova Scotia. Since, the band has been honing its performances throughout Atlantic Canada, sharing stages with legendary acts such as Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings and The John Scofield Uberjam Band. (Pigeon Row)
