Claire Lynch set her sights on a career in music back in the mid-70s fronting the band Wild Hickory, a group that would eventually evolve into Front Porch String Band. Music has remained a driving force in her life ever since. For the past twelve years she’s led her own group, the Claire Lynch Band.

Over her many years in the music business, Lynch has earned a staggering amount of award nominations including 17 International Bluegrass Music Association nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year (winning three), three Grammy nominations and recently, she was awarded a United States Artists Walker Fellowship Award in 2012.

Visiting the Maritimes for a string of performances this month, Lynch and her band (which includes string protégé Bryan McDowell, who swept the fiddle, mandolin and guitar categories at the 2009 National Flatpicking Championships) will make their way though Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island between October 6 – 15.

New Brunswick performances include:

October 7 | Rogersville, NB
October 13 | Saint John, NB | Imperial Theatre
October 15 | Riverview, NB | Riverview Harvest Festival
