Bluegrass at The Muse

The pride of McEvoy Street, Alan Jeffries returns to his hometown this month for a show at The Tipsy Muse Cafe on November 30.

Bluegrass fans are in for a treat this month when Alan Jeffries takes to the stage at The Tipsy Muse Cafe for an intimate evening of bluegrass/roots music. Originally from Fredericton, Jeffries has built a career as both an accompanist and a band leader. For the last decade he has performed with a trio of Fredericton expats in the David Myles trio based in Halifax, and leads his own group, the Alan Jeffries Band.

“Alan Jeffries is the real deal. I’ve seen him play festivals, theatres, parties, campfires and even a canoe. It doesn’t matter who the audience is, they become his audience within minutes of the first note. Alan holds the guitar differently than anyone, and I mean that literally and figuratively.”

– Greg Webber, Kill Chicago.

Jeffries’ 2013 debut album Coffee ‘Til Midnight (Forward Music Group) won an ECMA for Roots/Traditional Solo Recording of the Year.

A performance like this one doesn’t come along often. While Jeffries returns home each year for the Shivering Songs Bluegrass Brunch, solo shows in his hometown are a rarity.
