Photographer Jason Nugent will share stories and images from his recent travels – November 19 in Fredericton.
Last week Gallery 78 opened a new exhibit of work from photographer Jason Nugent. Following a successful opening event, Nugent will return to the gallery on November 19 to offer a slideshow and to share stories behind many of the photographs he has made during adventures to Scotland’s Hebrides, Iceland’s winter coastline and the Himalayas.
Nugent has photographed in more than ninety countries while pursuing his love for outdoor, action sport and commercial photography.
Jason draws inspiration from classical landscape photographers like Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell, expedition photographers including Jimmy Chin and Tim Kemple, and Josef Albers, a pioneer in the fields of shape and composition. The immediacy of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s work also finds appeal. In recent years, he has had the privilege of working with outdoor great Lars Schneider and portrait maestro Peter Hurley.
Nugent’s work will remain on display at Gallery 78 until November 26.
